The studio space.

White on white - floors, walls and ceilings.

Natural light floods the 60m2 studio (12m x 5m) from the south and east in the mornings via over-height recycled timber doors and French doors, a large pane of glass and a large roller door. Softer, filtered light is available in the afternoons through these openings. The archway has soft light in the morning and brighter light in the afternoons from the north, creating a Mediterranean vibe.

A pitched ceiling rakes from 3 metres at the sides to 4.5 metres in the centre. Several power points are positioned both in the ceiling and low on the walls, and we have installed two speed-controlled fans for reducing the temperature by up to 6 degrees in the space during summer. All downlighting is adjustable via dimmers if using the space for a workshop or event and we include a Bluetooth speaker for tunes.

The 3.5 x 3.5m roller door is ideal for loading in and out, large enough for most furniture, props and gear.

The kitchen & meeting room.

Designed with functionality in mind, the kitchen has everything you will need for a day at the studio. Complimentary tea, coffee from compostable coffee pods and a selection of milks are included in our hire offering. You’ll also find a bar fridge, glasses, cutlery and crockery for your use and we’ve included a dishwasher for easy clean up at the end of the day.

A large table and several chairs in this space are provided so you can take a load off while you have lunch or use the room for a progress meeting during the day.

For hair and makeup, we’ve installed a beautiful 2 metre microcement bar-height bench in this space, with two double power points for styling tools, comfortable stools and a large mirror.

Overlooking our beautiful gardens and with a long distance view towards the northern ranges, the space has a great vibe for gathering and breaks.

The bathroom.

Carefully designed to be both beautiful and functional, you will find a long bench with an elegant micro-cement finish, brass tapware, soft arched wall, and a natural reed ceiling with a large woven pendant light.

With hair and makeup in mind, we’ve installed a large mirror with bright LED strip lighting built into the recycled timber shelf. Power points are within easy reach for hair styling tools and a stool sits under the bench for comfort.

Behind the arched wall, and up a couple of steps is a modern compost toilet.

The gardens.

When you arrive at the studio, you’ll pull into the driveway to a large parking area. On the eastern side, follow the meandering pathways that lead to lush gardens filled with a mix of native, sub-tropical and exotic plants.

These gardens have been a labour of love for almost a decade and you are welcome to use them as a backdrop for your photoshoot. From the majestic black bamboo to the huge tropical leaves of the monstera and heliconias, through to the grey green foliage of our natives, there are some truly beautiful opportunities.

If you spot some foliage in the garden that you would like to use as part of your studio shoot, please ask us and we’ll usually be happy to accommodate.
